coyotes

coyotes are the most common mammal on the peninsula of baja California.Coyotes are omnivorous; omnivorous is
eating both animals and plant foods. The Coyotes are nocturnal animals, however their are also active during the morning.
Coyotes eat small birds, snakes, lizards, deer,cattle and small insects. Coyotes also eat some fruits and vegetables during autumn and winter months.

white-tailed deer
The white tail deer is most common east of the American cordillera. A cordillera is a group of parallel mountain ranges together with the intervening plateaus and other features white tail deer are mostly nocturnal but can be seen at any time. They eat most of their time in the morning.Deers use many species of plants as cover and shelters. White Tail Deers can weigh up to 300 pounds. They travel in groups and when its winter the packs can be in more than 100 deers.

Puma are lonesome animals, they are very territorial animals and actively avoid other cats and are active hunters and may travel long distances in search of food. Pumas face habitat loss and are being poached. Poaching animals is killing them illegally. Pumas eat large mammals such as deer, and smaller mammals such as mice, squirrels, porcupines, raccoons, rabbits and beavers.

Lynx are usually alone, although a small groups of lynx may travel and hunt together at times . They start to mate in the late winter and they give birth from two to four kittens once a year. The pregnancy time is about 70 days. The young stay with the mother for one more winter, for about nine months, before they move out to live on their own as young adults. Lynx will create their dens in crevices or under ledges.A crevices is a narrow opening or fissure. They also feed on a wide range of animals, from white-tailed deer, and small red deer, to smaller, more usual prey: snowshoe hares, fish, foxes, sheep, squirrels, mice, turkeys and other birds, and goats.

wild sheep live in herds of about 5 to 15 ewes, lambs, yearlings, and two-year olds. Groups of males are much smaller, usually numbering two to five. In the winter, the wild sheep herds join to create bands of as many as 100 animals.
In the fall, the rams compete for ewes by having butting contests. They charge each other at speeds of more than 20 mph, their foreheads crashing with a crack that can be heard more than a mile away. These battles may last as long as 24 hours.
